Mike was born and raised in the Grove City, Ohio area and has lived in various communities in and around Columbus, Ohio. After attending Franklin University he began his real estate career in 1981 acquiring oil and gas properties and pipeline easements for Ohio oil and gas wells being drilled. In 1986 he went through intense real estate sales and acquisitions training and began buying and subdividing large land tracts for Patten Corporation and Countrytyme Land Company and in 1991 he formed his own company Great American Land Company. In his career he has coordinated the acquisition and development of over 180 new home subdivisions, and has acquired approximately 95,000 acres of oil leases in Ohio, Kentucky and Texas for various companies resulting in many new wells being drilled. Mike has also bought and renovated several homes as an investor and has learned many lessons in dealing with contractors and home improvements.

He has a network of professionals he works with that include experts in home construction and improvements, land use, planning and zoning, appraisal, engineering, land surveying, environmental issues, title law, contract and lease law, groundwater resources, soils and drainage as related to septic and sewage systems and design, and excavating, minerals and timber.
